Umberlee

Unfortunately we cannot print her full title here due to at least parts of the Guide being devoted to families. (In fact, there are entire sections of the guide devoted to topics for those who are beyond their childhood years, but they will not be presented here. Consult your own Guide for further information.

Although not much like Tymora in outlook, she is often worshipped to keep her wrath away from sailors at sea. Worshippers instead of trying to court her favor steadfastly avoid her disfavor unless they wind up on the bottom of the ocean floor.

Tymora

A Faerunian diety and one you want to have on your side for she is the goddess of luck and can bring good fortune to her worshippers. In fact, it's better to remain on her good side even if you aren't a worshipper. She doesn't actively seek out those who displease, but unfortunate accidents have been known to happen from time to time to those who dn't court her favor.

Maces

A simple melee weapon that are a favorite of many non-specialty clerics. I think the popularity is due to the ability to give a deserving non-repentant sinner a good blow to the head when necessary, although using such a weapon seems to be overkill.

Waukeen

The god of weatlh on Faerun. His services are easily bought, but not necessarily cheaply. The help of the clerics can be counted on if you bring along a sizeable donation.

Staffs

A favorite of wizards, druids, and some specialty clerics. The major advantage of non-magical staffs is that they are cheap and easily found in any place that has a tree. Little preperation is needed to make an appropriate staff, yet why they do not get replaced with better weapons by people who know better remains one of the mysteries of the multiverse.

Pirates

By far the coolest profession in the universe, engaged in an ancient war with their arch foe, the Ninja. Pirates have an innate fashion sense and are always ready to swashbuckle. If you are one of those losers who thinks the Ninjas win the debate, then you are obviously wrong.

Ninjas

For more information on Ninjas, we suggest that you go to the source of Real Ultimate Power which seems to be on something called "The Internet." The Guide's editors do not pretend to know exactly what it means but the correspondent left a cryptic message: realultimatepower.net

Freelancers

This is the adventuring company currently most active in the city of Phlan in the Moonsea. The most important member of the Freelancers is their newest edition, the gnome Proctor Ix, whose skull and sage advice has pulled them out of danger on more than one occasion. Other members of the adventuring party may suggest that something else is the case, but their jealousy towards the attractive and talented gnome shows quite obviously.

As there fame grows, they have become known as the "Real Heroes of Phlan" causing some rivalry with the former group of that title. It is only a matter of time before they choose to prove that they've earned it and reap the spiritual and material rewards of the conflict.
